The Whitman-Hanson boys cross country team earned another Patriot League win today beating Hingham in a dog-fight and coming away with a 26-29 victory, keeping their unbeaten streak alive.
The Harbomen came ready to race and really gave the Panthers a run for their money, but in the end it was Nate Stephansky's first-place finish that secured the team's win. The senior captain ran a season-best time of 16:41 on his 3.1 mile home course. Senior, Pat Mulrey, was the next Panther to cross the line, placing 3rd in a time of 17:25, followed by junior, Brian Sheppard in 17:41 placing 5th. Junior, Steve Smart, picked up a huge 7th place in 17:51 while junior, Ty Durrant, wrapped up the scoring in 10th place running 18:22.
Also running well for the Panthers was freshman, Sam Evans, and sophomore, Pat Brett.
The boys will now focus their attention to Saturday when they'll run in the Frank Kelly Invitational to be held in Wrentham.
