Whitman-Hanson Cross Country traveled to
Plymouth South High School on Tuesday in Patriot League action. The
Whitman-Hanson Girls were led by Junior Sam Coletti who won her second league
race in a week. Coletti covered the 3 Mile course in 18:54, helping the
Panthers defeat Plymouth South 16-46. W-H finished with 5 runners in the top 6
finishers. Senior Co-Captains Kelsey Tierney and Caroline Mulrey tied for
second place with identical times of 20:23, followed by Senior Co-Captain Megan
Concannon who placed 4th in 20:50. Junior Abbie Newman rounded out the scoring
for Whitman-Hanson placing 6th in 21:08. Natalie Hansen of Plymouth South was
Plymouth South's top runner finishing 5th in 20:59.
The W-H Boys also won with a score of 20-35.
Senior Captain Patrick Brett, who also won his second race of the season,
finished first for Whitman-Hanson in 17:07, just ahead of teammate Junior Jayson
Keenan at 17:08. Junior Sam Evans and Sophomore Lukas Moscoso finished 4th and
5th respectively for Whitman-Hanson with times of 17:28 and 17:29, while
Freshman Jack Ryan also scored for the Panthers with an 8th place finish in
18:23. Plymouth South's Drew Mahoney was his team's top finisher placing 3rd
with a time of 17:16.
Whitman Hanson travels to Duxbury for it next
meet scheduled for September 16th.
