The Whitman-Hanson
Wrestling team hosted the Duxbury Dragons Wednesday night in its first league
meet this season and pulled off an impressive 51-29 victory. Sophomore Jake
Filicchia (113 lbs.) got things started for the Panthers with an impressive
first period pin over his opponent. Then junior Mike McDonough (126 lbs.)
followed it up with a pin of his own. At 138 lbs. junior Luke Rogers battled
for six minutes and pulled of a great 8-1 victory. Panther grapplers Tysun
Plouse, Dan Bean, Kevin Meehan and Garrett McSweeney proceeded to round out the
night with 4 wins all by pin, securing the first win of the young season. The
team heads to Marshfield Saturday December 20th for a multiple team meet
featuring the likes of Chelmsford and Marshfield.
