The Whitman-Hanson Girls Varsity Lacrosse team played Hull today at home in a non - league game. Hull rushed out to a 6-0 lead within the first few minutes of the game. Hull was maintaining draw control for a while in the first half as well. That all changed when Taylor McVeigh took over the role of center for the first time ever. She managed to stop Hull from getting control and had 7 draw controls herself. This helped cut Hull ' s lead to 3 going into the half. The Panthers offense really came alive in the second and with the draw controls, it was a new game. The Panthers defense also played excellent in the second half holding Hull to only 3 goals. Unfortunately, they couldn't overcome the initial hole they dug themselves into as Hull won 14-12. Leading the Panthers in scoring was Rachel Kelly (4 goals, 2 assists). McVeigh, Liz Hyslip, and Gabby Majenski each had 2 goals. Kaity Carpenter and Arica McCarthy each had a goal as well. The Panthers are now 5-8 on the season (4-2 league).
