Whitman-Hanson Volleyball loses 3-0 to Duxbury
> The Whitman-Hanson Panthers welcomed the Duxbury volleyball team tonight and lost a tough match 3-0. The game scores were 9-25, 18-25 and 26-28. In the first set Panthers started slow and had a hard time in serve receive against Duxbury's tough servers. Duxbury was able to get the Panthers back on their heels in the first set and despite solid play from setter Alyssa Gacicia the Panthers couldn't right the ship. In the second and third sets the Panthers were able play better on defense which allowed the offense to start driving the ball into Duxbury's court. Behind the strong serving of Madison Scott, Chiara Cassiano and Alyssa Gacicia Whitman-Hanson was able to hang tough against the big hitting Duxbury team. In the third and final set the Panthers rallied behind strong defensive plays by Jordyn Keith and Jess Nihan to puss Duxbury to extra points in the final set. In the end Duxbury's strong serves got the better of the Panther's defense. Playing well for the Panthers tonight was Chiara Cassiano with 4 kills, Alyssa Gacicia with 9 assists and 4 aces and Sophie O'Brien with 3 kills and 2 blocks. The Panthers move to 0-2 on the season and host Silver-Lake on Friday.
