Fwd: Whitman-Hanson Volleyball defeats Norwell 3-0
Whitman-Hanson hosted the Norwell Clippers and earned their 6th win of the season, 3-0. Game scores were 25-10, 25-14 and 25-3. Norwell is a new volleyball program and struggled to pass the ball effectively against the tough Panther serving and hitting. In the first set the Panthers were led by Sophia Raiche and Sophie O'Brien. In the second set the Panthers were led by strong serving from Lily Spicer who served 7 consecutive points to help stretch a Panther lead. Jessica Nihan played well at the night for the Panthers getting a key block and kill late in the set. Allie Spyropoulos had a solid turn at the setter position helping the team capitalize on opportunities to attack the Clipper defense. In the third and deciding set the Panthers were led out to a 13-0 lead thanks to strong serving by Allie Spyropoulos. Halle Julian and Jordyn Keith made key plays at the net to seal the Panther victory. The Panthers move to 6-3 on the season which is only one win away from equaling their win totals in the past two seasons. The Panthers head to Norwell on Tuesday for a rematch with the Clippers.
