> The Whitman-Hanson Panthers Golf Team traveled to President's Golf Course in North Quincy today to take on the Red Raiders in their season opener. The team this year is fairly inexperienced, as they graduated several starting seniors last year; however, they all played today like seasoned veterans, earning their first victory of the season, winning 237-265 in the league match.

> The low score on the day came from senior captain John Murphy, who shot a 2 over par, 36. Seniors Matt Josselyn and Luke Tamulevich also played well, each shooting a 38 and 39, respectively. Lastly, Junior JP Drier made his debut today, with an impressive 6 over par performance.

> Though proud of their efforts today, they need to stay focused, as they host Hingham, a perennial top contender for the league, tomorrow at Ridder Farm Golf Club.
