Haines City Florida - Senior Captains Nikko Raftes (15 points) and Luke Tamulevich (11 points) led Whitman-Hanson to a 43-22 win over Ridge Community in the semifinals of the Hornets Holiday tournament in Haines City Florida.
"This may have been the best defensive effort I've seen one of our teams play," Panther coach Bob Rodgers said. "We watched their explosive offense in the first round of the tournament and were worried about all of their shooters but our kids really responded with a terrific team effort."
Junior Bryan Tyrie hit two big three pointers in a decisive second quarter run while freshmen Ryan Bosse provided a spark off the bench with 5 points.
The Panthers improve to 4-1 and play in the championship tomorrow at 730pm.
