48 Girls teams from across the State sent some of their best Track and Field athletes to compete in yesterday's MSTCA State Pentathlon Meet at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Each team was allowed to enter 3 athletes. Representing Whitman-Hanson were Seniors Alex Santos and Sophomores Dorothy DiMascio-Donohue and Allison Bartlett. The Pentathlon tests not only the athletic ability of the competitors but their stamina as well. Five different events, the 55 Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Shotput, and 800 Meter run are completed in a three hour span. The Whitman-Hanson athletes were outstanding as a team finishing 10th of the 48 entries. 144 Individual athletes competed with Alex Santos finishing 19th overall, Dorothy-DiMascio Donohue 30th, and Allison Bartlett 78th. Extraordinary results from three incredible athletes.
