This
was a terrific winter for our athletic program as so many of our teams
qualified for the tournament and competed at a high level. The boys
hockey team, who only four years ago had a one win season, advanced all the way
to the sectional semifinals where they lost to one of the best teams in the
state on Tuesday night. Despite the loss, we couldn’t be more proud of
the way the student athletes and coaches represented Panther nation.
The boys basketball team added more
hardware to the trophy case on Saturday night by winning their third south
sectional title in the last 5 years. Despite losing on opening night of
the season back in early December, the team stayed united and reeled off 22
straight wins to with the Patriot league title and now the sectional
championship. Their 24 wins this season ties a school record for wins in
a single season by any sports team (the 2016 boys basketball team also won
24). The season continues on Wednesday night at the Boston Garden as the
Panthers take on Beverly High School in the Eastern Massachusetts state
championship at 7:15pm. There are fan busses for those who would like to
attend. You can click on this link to purchase your tickets. The $25 fee
includes the bus and ticket to the game. If
you would like to ride the fan bus, please purchase your tickets online at the
link below before 10am on Tuesday.
