Senior Co-Captain Tommy Marshall threw an opening season shutout against Duxbury in Patriot League,. Keenan Division baseball today. With his brother Bobby catching him, Tommy went the distance, scattering 6 hits and striking out 9 and walking only 1 Duxbury batter.
He and the Whitman-Hanson defense worked out of tight spots more than once to preserve the shutout.
On offense, senior Ty Gordon had a hit and 2 rbi, and junior Ethan Smith also had a hit and an rbi as the Panthers scored 2 in the fourth inning, 2 in the fifth, and 1 in the sixth. Tommy Marshall and Evan Yakavonis also had hits for Whitman-Hanson.
Whitman-Hanson is scheduled to travel to Hingham
